HX Expeditions
Change the way you see the world. Purpose-built expedition ships, expert-led landings and a legacy that began in 1896.

Expeditions since 1896
HX is rooted in one of the world's longest expedition legacies. It began on 8 July 1896, when the steamship DS Lofoten sailed from Hammerfest in Norway to Svalbard in the High Arctic, and 2026 marks 130 years of expedition travel.
HX ships are purpose-built for exploration: smaller and more agile than traditional cruise ships, they reach remote coastlines, hidden fjords and untouched landing sites. Routes stay flexible for weather, wildlife and sea conditions, so no two expeditions are the same.
